Rich in history, University of Kabianga first started out as a Government School in 1925. It soon became Kabianga Teachers’ Training College which was later relocated in 1963 and changed into Kericho Teachers’ Training College. Leaving a void, Kabianga Farmers Training Center was established which begun the institutions journey towards helping farmers from the South Rift and beyond. As an Agricultural Training Facility, it became the Kabianga Campus of Moi University then later was elevated to Kabianga University College. Finally, in 2013 it was awarded its charter and became the University of Kabianga.

The institution is situated in Kericho, in the Kabianga Complex that hosts the former Kabianga Farmers Training Center, Kabianga High School, Kabianga Primary School and the Kipsigis County Council Tea Farm. The higher learning institution is driven to provide quality and entrepreneurial education, research and collaborations that will ensure they are consistently developing, preserving and transferring knowledge and technology to the communities at large. As their vision states, they seek to be the leading university in scientific innovation for the betterment of humanity. The university provides students with access to certificate-level, diploma-level, undergraduate-level and post-graduate level courses; cutting across Laboratory Safety and Management, French, Communication & Public Relations, Public Administration, Literature, Kiswahili, Agroforestry and Environmental Studies.

The campus is set in the leafy environs of Kericho, where students can learn either on-campus or via their e-learning portal. Students have the flexibility of pursuing their course full-time, part-time or online. At their campus, students will be able to access;
