ABOUT NAIROBI AVIATION COLLEGE - NAIROBI
The Nairobi Aviation College has it’s headquarter in Nairobi and branches in Kisumu and Mombasa, and is registered as a Tertiary Vocational Training Institution. There are smaller branches across major towns in Kenya like Nakuru, Eldoret, Kitale and Nyeri too. The Nairobi Aviation College opened for admissions in 1999 and since then, Nairobi Aviation College has students’ majority of whom are Kenyans and a number of foreigners.
The institution offers Aviation related courses and other courses. Programs offered in their branches include Kenya National Exams Council (KNEC) syllabi on Aeronautical engineering, Business and Economics, Accounting and Finance programs from Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Exams Board (KASNEB) both of which have produced a large number of graduates. As an exam center, Nairobi Aviation College trains and supervise KNEC, KASNEB, ICM, City & Guilds and IATA Training and Development Institute. These programs are for both full-time and part-time to accommodate all students’ schedules.
Students also have diverse options in sports and recreation, music, drama and others. They participate in annual sports competitions organized nationally. In both aspects of their education, students have professional Tutors and Trainers. The school of Journalism and Media launched a Television Network called Aviation TV aired from Nairobi.
Nairobi Aviation College plans to commence degree courses with the launch of Africa Aviation University, an initiative of the Colleges Strategic Plan. The new University will be set up in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, Kenya. The student population has become more diverse and multiple nationalities are represented in their schools. This is because of the performance of the institution in various global exams like IATA, ICM and City and Guilds Examinations. The International Air Travel Association (IATA) has recurrently ranked Nairobi Aviation College among the top Authorized Training Centers (ATC) in Africa and the Middle East in its Recognition Programme. The organization has ATCs in Africa and Middle East, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, China and North Asia, Europe, and South Asia.
At the college, students are able to apply to a number of different courses namely: Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Operations, Hospitality Management, Clearing and Forwarding, Journalism and Media Arts, Social work and Community Development, Secretarial Studies, Travel and Tourism, Computer Studies and Electrical and Electronics. A thing to note is among its notable alumni is Ratego FM Owner David Bondo.
The college’s registration process is easy with registration requiring a potential student to provide three coloured passport size photos, copies and originals of result slips, certificates and other testimonials, a copy and original National ID card or passport. Their fees are payable during admission plus tuition fees (amount varying from course to course).
