KIBCo is a TVET accredited institute that was initiated in January 2004. In 2010, it became officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) as a TVET training institute. As of today, KIBCo has also been recognized by National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB), Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), Kenya Counselling and Psychology (KCPA) and the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Program, Sri Lanka in running Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC) and Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC), National Aids and STIs Control Programme (NASCOP). KIBCo has always worked to be recognized as the foremost institute in become real education that imparts wholistic development opportunities as well as professional development. The institute puts great store by moral and ethical professionalism in any industry and imparts its students with a drive for honesty, social responsibility and accountability. It offers a diverse set of courses that cover core subjects from Supply Chain Management to Trauma Counselling. It accommodates student needs and limitations with its short courses that are meant to deliver skills, knowledge and training to students in a condensed package over a short period of time. 

With state-of-the-art learning facilities and campuses in both Nairobi and Thika Town, Kenya Institute of Business and Counselling Studies runs both school-based and Open Distance Learning (ODL) programmes, and seeks to provide training, education, research, publications, counselling, and clinical supervision services to its community and student body, whilst holding steadfastly to its core values of professionalism, integrity, innovation, care, and support.
